CBU invites applications for the full-time position of Director of Marketing & Communications. The Director is responsible for determining and overseeing the best ways to represent CBU’s brand identity and voice in all media platforms through collaboration with Senior Leadership.

*  Master’s degree in communications, public relations, or marketing preferred. Bachelor of Public Relations or Bachelor of Business Administration (Marketing) plus a minimum of 10 years progressive brand building/stewardship, marketing, communications, and leadership experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience). 
*  Minimum five years experience coaching and leading direct reports to meet required marketing and communications objectives.
Successful track record in the development of end-to-end integrated marketing and communications strategies and leading their implementation including developing concepts, defining comprehensive requirements (operations, technical, marketing, sales), crafting and executing well-defined project plans, and launching effective, measurable campaigns.
*   Demonstrated excellence in message development, reputation management, and brand development.
Experience in crisis communication and issue management.
Must be familiar with digital marketing and communication tools.
Confident and effective communication (written & verbal) skills; excellent presentation skills.
Understanding of post-secondary marketing, communications, higher education challenges and opportunities, and Cape Breton University considered a strong asset.
