CPRS National reaffirms its commitment to the future of the profession with enhanced online presence

The new CPRS.CA connects practitioners of all levels with learning and networking opportunities needed for advancement.

TORONTO – July 25, 2018 - The Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) has unveiled a redesigned national website specifically focused on fostering the professional development and networking of CPRS members and their fellow communicators across the country.

“It’s been more than a decade since cprs.ca first came online and following today’s relaunch, we’re one step closer to realizing our vision for the future of CPRS,” said Kim Blanchette, APR, FCPRS, Chair, CPRS National Website Task Force. “With our new site, we’ll be able to meet the diverse needs of our members better than ever by offering the professional development and networking opportunities they need to achieve success.”

One of the many ways visitors can pursue professional development on the new site is with the Bill Rees Learning Centre, a robust yet easy-to-navigate repository of learning materials and other exclusive content. The section was made possible in large part due to a generous endowment from the estate of Bill Rees, APR, FCPRS(H) LM, who passed away February 3, 2017.

“Bill Rees was a visionary who understood that professional communicators need to continually learn and develop in order to provide trusted counsel to the C-suite,” says Dana Dean, APR, FCPRS(H) LM, CPRS National President.  “We are delighted to offer our 1,700 National members across the country with a rich, progressive Learning Centre in his honour. With this new resource, we hope that Bill’s generous spirit and dedication to CPRS will not soon be forgotten and will continue to inspire the same in others for years to come.”

Along with the Bill Rees Learning Centre, communicators looking to advance in their careers will also benefit from an improved Job Board, featuring the latest and oftentimes exclusive openings from across the country, and CPRS Connect, where Society members can network and engage with one another to discuss the issues currently impacting their careers. Many features on the new site will be available to the public either complimentary or for a fee, however, only CPRS members receive unlimited access to the entire site.

The new site incorporates much of the feedback collected from members and non-members over the past year and uses the latest technology to offer a responsive design that provides a consistent look and feel across all devices and platforms, as well as an improved navigation and more intuitive user experience.

Visit cprs.ca to access all of these features and many others today.
