Colleague & Executive Communications Manager

Job Description
We are looking for an experienced communications professional to play a key role in the Colleague & Executive Experience team as part of our Corporate & Public Affairs (CAPA) department. This is an exciting opportunity for you to be part of the evolution of our internal communications function and to support key internal partners and executives. You will develop, lead and manage effective and compelling communications strategies and initiatives that will contribute to and elevate employee engagement and build TD's unique employer brand. You will play a key internal consultant role, working closely with business partners and executives to provide strong counsel, smart ideas and execution support, ensuring our leaders and employees are well informed, engaged and contributing to TD's success.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
What will you do?

- Develop and lead communication strategies that support and reflect TD's unique and inclusive employee culture, highlighting key programs, stories and activities.

- Utilize your well-honed project and relationship management capabilities and experience to partner effectively with key partners and leaders within Human Resources and other areas of the Bank to drive agendas and deliver effective communication solutions.

- Contribute to setting standards and reinforcing best practices for internal communications, including improved tools and channels for communication and engagement.

- Edit and/or write compelling communications using conversational, clear language, relevant to the intended audience and channel.
- Measure communication effectiveness with a focus on continuous improvement.
 
- Work within a Centre of Excellence for communications, build strong relationships and collaborate with other communication professionals in CAPA and across the organization to drive best practices.
 
Qualifications

Skills and Experience for the job:

- Ideal candidate would have minimum 7-10 years of experience in corporate or agency environment, with superior writing and editorial skills.

- Expertise in internal communication leadership, with a proven ability to partner with business and subject matter experts and colleagues to plan, create, adapt and evaluate employee communication strategies that inform and engage.

- Knowledge of contemporary communications theories, principles and practices.

- Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to reach the hearts and minds of employees through compelling storytelling; experience with digital and visual content and internal social platforms would be an asset.

- Passionate about the role of communications in building employee engagement, fostering a inclusive and diverse culture, and building upon an organization’s unique reputation and brand

- Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment and excel under tight deadlines. 

- Excellent relationship management and collaboration capabilities, with experience influencing and building consensus among individuals and teams.

- Ability to think critically and work creatively to tell compelling stories across multiple channels and platforms.

- Digital fluency and experience working with digital and social communication platforms.

- Post-secondary education in Communication, Journalism, English or related field
