Job Description

NATIONAL Public Relations, Canada's largest public relations firm, has an immediate opening in its Vancouver office.

 

NATIONAL’s services include strategic communications planning, public affairs, media relations and media training, corporate communications, issues and crisis management and stakeholder and community relations.

 

We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate to join our Vancouver office.  As an Associate, you enjoy working in teams and have experience in media relations, event management, writing and social media.  You thrive in a fast-paced, high energy, creative and dynamic work environment.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Conduct media relations outreach

·         Conduct research to support client mandates

·         Develop and lead tactical implementation of events and programs

·         Compile and manage databases and lists

·         Attend meetings as part of the consulting team

·         Work in conjunction with consultants in handling the day-to-day client business

·         Write communications plans, news releases, etc. and work with designers

·         Manage supplier relationships for clients

·         Manage client accounts, from project definition to budget development and through to account management, ensuring timely delivery of client assignments

 

 

 

SKILLS

·         Ability to set and manage multiple priorities based on relative importance and urgency

·         Proficient in writing and editing documents

·         Exceptional research skills

·         Knowledge of social media tools and their application in a business context

·         Ability to create and manage databases

·         Ability to implement communications programs

·         Good presentation skills

·         Strong demonstrable computing skills, in particular MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint

 

 

Qualifications
· Two – four years of work experience (agency experience preferred)
· College or university degree or equivalent
· Intermediate writing skills
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Knowledge of social media tools and their application in a business context
· Broad knowledge of the media, government and the business community, including having established relationships
