The Public Engagement Officer is responsible for the creation and implementation of a comprehensive communications strategy for the PRAO. Tasks will include the oversight and development of all issues identification, issues management, communications, public relations, and public engagement functions. This will require exceptional writing, editing,
consultation, and communication skills. Additionally, this position will perform research and analysis to provide the Property Rights Advocate with critical information to make informed decisions.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated a sound understanding of communication theories, principles, and practices; as well as knowledge of the program. An ability to research, develop innovative and creative solutions, and analyze complex information related to property rights will assist the incumbent in effectively meeting expectations. Experience with a variety of software applications, social media tools, MS Office, and web development tools will assist you in engaging landowners and other stakeholders.
Qualifications: University degree in a related field (such as: public relations, communications, journalism or a
related discipline) supplemented with at least 4 years related experience. Candidates with experience developing
communication strategies with multi-disciplinary stakeholders will be given preference. Equivalencies will be
considered. Candidates with lesser qualifications may be considered at a lower classification and salary.
